bathtime

Mia had her first "real" bath today. I've been washing all that pretty hair under the faucet and sponge bathing her. I'm afraid I'll wash her newness away! She still has that sweet brand new baby smell and I love it!

more Mia...

She really is the most beautiful baby girl I've ever seen. Everyone is in LoVe! I'm glad Jackson is doing so well. It's so sweet, he just loves to give her kisses and whenever he hears her cry, he drops what he's doing and comes running to see. It's so funny, sometimes while I'm nursing Mia, he'll climb up and try to "kiss" my boobs too! He's such a silly boy!
It's funny how when she was born, she didn't have a stitch of pink... and four days later, she has drawers full! Thanks to family and friends =)

So here's a few more pictures of my sweet baby girl. And my wild boy...

I am so blessed to have two beautiful, healthy babies.

sticky goodness

This is one of my most favorite foods ever. Sticky rice!

My lovely grandmother showed me how to make it before she passed. It consists of sweet glutenous rice (which really isn't sweet, although you can prepare it as a desert- but I don't know how... maybe I'll try that next), Chinese sausage, shitake mushrooms, and chives. It's the yummiest thing ever and I could eat it everyday!

Jackson loves it too.

new haircut

I decided to go ahead and cut my hair before the baby gets here. I figure I won't have much free time afterwards. It was so long and in my way. It would even get stuck under my armpits. Gross. They cut off about 6 or 7 inches, but it still wasn't long enough to donate. Oh well, maybe next time. So here I am with the "mom" hair. I do feel so much better now, and Jackson didn't even notice it gone. (he has this weird thing for my hair... silly boy)

"crappy" day

Last night we went grocery shopping. I got everything we needed, unloaded and the guy checked it all. And guess what I left at home... my check card! No cash, no card, no check, nothing! So I had to unbag all of my groceries (that's what I get for being eco friendly and using my own bags) and leave everything there. Poor guy, I bet he was mad. I said sorry.

So this morning we went grocery shopping again. This time I made sure I had money before I left the house. On the way we stopped by Panera and had lunch. Can I just say I love Panera! So we go get our groceries and make our way home. On the way home, Jackson has his juice box from Panera (his daddy gave it to him) and he's playing with the straw and squeezing the box... just like I tell him not to. And he gets the juice everywhere. He starts screaming because he's all wet and sticky and gross, and he wants to take his clothes off. So we get home and I strip him down and put him in the tub. While he's playing I decide to clip my toe nails. Isn't it amazing? 35 weeks and I can still reach my feet. So I look up and he's climbing out of the tub. I look in the tub and I know why... he pooped in the tub! Now, this isn't the first time this has happened, but for some reason this time he's scared of the poop. I try to put him back in so I can clean him up and he won't go back in because of the poop. Boys are so gross!
So I take him out, clean him up, get him dressed, and clean the tub. That was pretty disgusting, but whatever, it's just poop. About an hour later, what do I smell? Jackson's dirty diaper. It's Jacob's turn for the poopy diaper, so he's changing Jack and he starts yelling for me to help him. Turns out Jackson was trying to help and got a handful. It ended up all over my bed and on his hair and his ear. UGH! So back in the tub he goes. I cleaned him all up and he's super squeaky clean now. I hope he's done pooping for the day because I'm done cleaning it up!

Okay, enough about poop. Here's a scarf I made for PCJ on Cafe Mom....

I think it's finally hitting me that I'm going to have another little baby here in a couple of weeks. I went ahead and washed all of the little green, yellow, and white clothes and blankets today. And we have the bassinet set up and ready. Jackson tries to climb in it every once in a while, but he's been pretty good. Except for the time he decided to do a little art work on it. Luckily Crayola comes out with a wipe.
Isn't it pretty?
Thursday I go for a check up and we'll set a date for the big day. I'm hoping for the 20th. I'm really starting to get uncomfortable here. But I can't wait to meet our new baby!

Off to a good start

Happy New Year guys! So far the year is off to a good start. I've had quite a productive day. Okay, so I didn't make it to midnight, but the fireworks did wake me up right after midnight. How boring am I! But this morning I did have some Bunuelos that my mom made. They're a Mexican thing and they're oh so yummy.

Here are some burp cloths I made... well, I actually made them a few days ago. They're felt and cotton and I just love the monkey print.

And guess what I found at Target. My most favorite chap stick by Burt's Bee's for... get this... .75 cents a piece! These are regular 2.99, but since I found them in the Christmas clearance isle, they were so super cheap. I was greedy and I bought 5... I can't help it, I love the stuff!

I did lots of sewing today. I sewed bags for all of the girls, Lauren, Mikey, and Leah. I cut everything out last night and today I sewed it all together.

But I didn't just sew and take pictures today. Jackson has really been into coloring lately and that's all he wants to do all day long. Most of the time he does well by himself, but sometimes he likes some company. So we colored lots of pictures today. My boy is a little artist! He's also been doing monkey ears. Stephanie taught him, it's really cute... except when he's eating spaghetti. Who am I kidding, it's still cute even then.

We made the long trip out to Sea Isle to visit Denise and the girls... and Fisher of course. We snacked and stuff and ate some black eyed peas and cabbage. The girls liked their bags, And I'm glad. So that was my day. A good one I think. I hope this new year has many more to come.

Things I'm looking forward to in 2009:

  • More days of Jack Jack

  • Our new baby

  • Creating things
  • Getting my old body back (I know it will never be the same though)

  • Did I mention Jackson?

  • Just living life =)
